SURF TRIP #23

As winter slowly made its presence felt in the Southern Hemisphere, we again set out to find warmer pastures… to find a place with empty beaches, endless summers, awesome waves, sunshine and warm water!

Yep. It was that time of the year again. Time to go there where winter’s presence is nothing more than a light offshore breath of fresh air!
The province of KwaZulu-Natal, on the East Coast of South Africa, is blessed with a true sub-tropical climate, making winters there a pleasantly mild to warm affair, while offering consistent winter-swell along many beaches and rocky point-breaks.

With us we had another awesome group of people keen to surf, travel and experience this breathtaking part of Southern Africa!

We started our Surf Trip on the Northern-coast of KwaZulu-Natal, where we explored the natural beauty of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park and Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Nature Reserve, where Africa’s big five roam free and wild!

We then travelled down to the Southern KwaZulu Natal coastline where clean and empty waves awaited us… to be surfed every day !!!

And off course we also witnessed the most spectacular views and did all the most exciting things there are to do on an awesome and adventurous Surf Trip in KwaZulu-Natal!

All the while keeping our bodies and minds ready to absorb it all with a relaxing daily Yoga practice … breathing to the rhythm of waves.

KwaZulu-Natal Surf Trip 2016 was another two weeks of absolute awesomeness! Thanks again to Umzumbe Surf House for accommodating us and generally being a really really cool bunch of people!
Again, I’m already looking forward to returning to KwaZulu-Natal in 2017. For more info and detailed (approx11imate) itineraries check out our SURF TRIPS!
