April Surf & Yoga Camp

What is the purpose of travelling? Why do people travel? To discover new places? New cultures? New experiences? New languages? Perhaps it is a combination of all of the above? Or maybe some people have entirely different reasons for wanting to travel…

I have my reasons, but this is not where I will share them… Not right now anyway… Over the course of the last 6 months I have shared many of my thoughts with you… The purpose of this particular post is to allow you, the reader of this blog, to ponder that question for yourself… Why do we travel…? Feel free to post your thoughts in the comments section below the photos…

In the meantime, we have come to the end of an exciting season of Surf Yoga & Photo Camps!

This April Surf & Yoga Camp was the last one of a series of Surf Camps that started in November 2011…

We shared our time with many satisfied travellers who have all returned to their country of origin with a new perspective on life and the meaning of travelling. Some of them have already returned and others will return in the very near future!

I am not the kind of person who likes to prolong final good bye’s because I don’t believe in final good bye’s… No one really knows where their life will take them in the future, and so you can never be sure that you will not see another person again… Besides, what if the end of this life is not the end of you? Who knows what comes next, you might just meet everyone you’ve ever met in one single glorious reunion!

So although we will be gone on our own travels for the next two months, this is not a “good bye for now”…

Who knows, I might just be fortunate enough to meet you within the very near future…

Until next time, enjoy these photos from our April Surf & Yoga Camp and remember to check back soon for stories and photos of our travelling experiences in the far east!!! Perhaps that is when I will again share my thoughts on the purpose of travelling…

After that we will be back in July with our TRANSKEI Surf Yoga & Photo Camp!!!

Until then ~

Happy travels and remember: Life is a journey, not a destination… Enjoy the ride!

Yours in Surfing Love and Life

  1. What better way of learning, about everything/life, than by travelling. My travelling is to escape from my everyday reality, stepping outside my life, routine and issues when I’m thirsty for “something more” or just a change of scenery or a breath of fresh air. To be an actor in other realities and a part of other people’s lives even for just a fraction of it is probably one of the most stimulating things. There you can be yourself or whoever you choose to be. The challenge is being able to come home and integrate those experiences into your own reality, as well as not feeling like you’re falling from a cloud!
